Founder and Principal Advisor, Vedicology Advisors. India, UAE and Singapore.
Praveen Saanker is the founder of Vedicology Advisors, a boutique advisory practice serving Indian business families and family-owned enterprises.
His work addresses the deeper human questions that wealth creates. Questions about identity, purpose, succession, legacy, and what a family actually wants from its wealth. He draws on twenty-five years of senior financial experience, a doctorate in clinical psychology, deep expertise in classical Indian knowledge systems, and the operational experience of having built and governed a functioning non-profit institution.
Senior Vice President, Wealth Management and Private Banking, at HSBC India. The role carried advisory relationships across South India. The clients were families. The work was their financial structures, their portfolios, and what they intended the money to do over a generation.
Founding-team Director at ASK Wealth Advisors, in Family Wealth and Family Office Advisory. The family office practice was built there from the ground up. Governance, succession and family dynamics, which is the work that begins where portfolio management ends.
Behind that side sit an Executive MBA from IMD Business School and an MBA in Finance from the University of Madras.
A PhD in Clinical, Counselling and Allied Psychology, and a Master of Counselling. Both from the University of Canterbury, in Christchurch, New Zealand. The clinical training is depth, and it is not the label. The work is coaching and mentoring. It is never therapy and never counselling. What it makes possible is that the human side of a succession is worked with rigorously, rather than by instinct.
A traditional upbringing in Kerala, and exposure from early education to the Sruthi and Smrithi scriptures. Then the philosophical schools of Vedanta, under eminent teachers. That study came before the banking and has continued since.
Jyotisha, Vastu Shastra and Numerology, alongside a broad reading of the Agama Shastras. Received in lineage and studied under teachers over decades. Not taken up later as an interest. These are classical Indian knowledge systems, used for timing, environment and alignment. Nothing is predicted and no outcome is guaranteed. What each one is used for, and where each stops, is set out at Vedic Frameworks.
The knowledge is applied and not only held. His own home was built to traditional standards, on the same principles he is asked about. He teaches these subjects as well. The Vedicology India Academy carries that work, on its own property.
The Vedicology Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit, incorporated in India in 2024. He is a Founder Director. Vandana Praveen is the other, and she runs finance, accounts and programme administration. It funds young women aged eighteen and above through college, professional and vocational study, and destitute women through vocational training, across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Scholarships run in six categories, from higher education and vocational training through to NEET, JEE, UPSC and CAT coaching. He wrote the criteria. He reports to the regulator.
These are not four careers laid end to end. In any single conversation he brings all of it at once. He did not leave finance for something softer. He succeeded in it for twenty-five years, and the classical study ran alongside the whole of it. He is not a family office, not a wealth manager and not a portfolio manager. Not a spiritual teacher, and not a banker who does astrology on the side.
